Topic: Players Input delay

Hi,
I noticed that there's a delay in the input when using 2 player on the same keyboard (PC). For example, if both players try to jump simultaneously the engine responds to only one of them. Is that from the input bus in the computer or in the engine? Would it be solved with an actual controller (xBox controller connected to the PC)?

Thanks in advance

Re: Players Input delay

Most likely, the problem is with your keyboard.  Some keyboards don't allow certain keys pressed simultaneously, usually the number is 3 or more.

It's definitely not UFE (I can jump both players simultaneously fine).

Switching to controllers should solve the issue, as it's the input device that's the issue not the engine.

Re: Players Input delay

thank you for your response. phewwwoo.. Just to confirm, did you try jumping forward with both characters (4 buttons)?

Re: Players Input delay

Yes, I can confirm I can jump forward and/or backward fine with both characters simultaneously.

Also check your Jump Delay in Character Physics.  If you're testing different characters, you can get different jump rates if they have different jump delay timings.

For reference, I tested with a delay of 6 frames in a mirror match and then with a delay of 0 frames.  Both had the same result (worked as expected).
