Topic: Combate Monero

Hi everyone!!

after Tzompantli the team was struggling to find the right project to use UFE again... but after some time we finally settled for a TZOMPANTLI quasi-sequel called COMBATE MONERO, wich reunites many characters from different mexican comic books... we want to publish the game soon on STEAM, but for now, you can check the demo on PC and MAC

Hi Strider, i would like to ask because until now i still cant wrap my head how the cinematics option in move editor works. In cinematic type are you using Camera Editor, Animation File or Prefab? Thank you.

Pretty sure Tzompantli used camera editor (default option)

It works but is very limited.

Extra information this version will always start from the normal camera postion (the position of the camera before any cinematics start)

BLOWING UP SOME STEAM (no pun intended)

No indeed, as Steam is by far quite a friendly platform to publish, save for the facts a lot of it's users are quite rude, nowadays, that's the way of the world in a lot of spaces i think. Recently, steam announced that the 32 bit applications for mac won't be available on steam as the new OS is hitting mac computers, so, we need to update... fast!

I've been working on Combate Monero almost two years now, i worked on tzompantli for 4 years... and the updates in platforms and engines are so ridiculously fast, most of the time i can't keep up. Just got an android version of Combate running and the play store told me "sorry, that unity version is old and the API number is 25 when it should be 26" basically all my work wen't to waste as for the new api i have to update the unity, and that means update UFE, and my 1.8.6 UFE is heavily modified (with help from my brother and this forums) and the update process is posible, but is a bit tedious and slow... i've been working a lot on this game, and when i try to push it little more, something is holding me back, and it really makes me angry. I'm sincerely thinking about only updating the windows version and abandon the mac and ANDROID ports, and start a new project fresh with a new UFE, but i don't have the energy or resources to do all over again.

Understandable, something I'd recommend is when you're done updating the Windows version, perhaps you could revisit the idea of making an android version in the future, possibly in a new project, e.g. a spinoff of your game with not as much content so you don't have to redo everything.

It's been a crazy ride developing games and trying to insert them on the market, but what can i say, it's been really fun rewarding. Met some awesome people and improve using tools i wouldn't think someday i couldknow so well...

DAMN that trailer is insane!! I can't wait to get on your level..

Btw, I followed your Tutorial on air combos, but for some reason my opponent doesnt stay in the air long enough for me to do a string of combos. In your video the opponent kinda "hangs" in the air whenever they get hit. How do you achieve that exactly?

^Tick Apply Different AirForce in the moves editor, add X and Y values.

Thanks, this definitely improves the air combos. How about the "freeze" effect that happens when the victim is hit in the air? Is it possible to have that effect only for airmoves and not for ground moves?

you can set the global editor hit effects for the ground hits. then change the air hit effects on a per move basis

look for Override event (on hit)

it gives you the option to override on hit and on block

Exactly! when we were working on tzompantli, the apply different X and Y speed if in the air wasn't implemented yet, so we created different moves only air combos, and other for the player regular status. a lot of things can be accomplished with UFE, it just needs work. smile

Combate Just celebrated it's first Anniversary on STEAM! we've been updating the game this whole year, with 9 characters post-Launch and 3 more on their way... we're not quite sure how much longer we'll keep developing COMBATE, but... who knows. smile

It's been a while since our first game Tzompantli was in development that we had our mind set on publishing on console and it is finally becoming a reality. Thank you everybody by helping here in the forums and comenting on the game and thanks for UFE, otherwise it couldn't be possible!
